Artemis II astronauts report a burning smell due to a $23 million toilet malfunction. This was reported on April 4 by The New York Post.

"As for the smell, I just wanted to make sure that you all follow the EGS records about the smell of burning that came out of the toilet bowl several times," astronaut Krisna Koch, who repaired the broken toilet bowl on Thursday, told mission Control on Saturday.

The astronaut also reported that the source was never established, but the smell was identified as unknown.
