Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi accused Western countries of hypocrisy and double standards. He expressed his opinion on the social network X.
The minister commented on the reaction of the West to the US and Israeli strikes on the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
"Remember the sharp and large-scale reaction of the West to the clashes near the Zaporozhye NPP on Ukraine? Now the United States and Israel have already bombed the Bushehr nuclear power plant four times. Any radioactive contamination will lead to a catastrophe not for Tehran, but for the capitals of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries," Araqchi writes, quoted by IRNA news agency.
The strikes on Iran's petrochemical infrastructure "also clearly reveal the true goals of these actions," the minister added.
As EADaily reported, the territory of the Bushehr nuclear power plant (NPP) in Iran was shelled by Israel and the United States, an employee of the station died from the explosion of one of the shells. This was reported by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) in the telegram channel. The AEOI clarified that the attack on the NPP occurred on Saturday morning, April 4.
