According to the Israeli state broadcaster Kan, the office of the head of the Israeli government tried to arrange a meeting between Netanyahu and King Abdullah II of Jordan. The request was sent even before the recent round of escalation with Iran.
The Hashemite Kingdom asked for explanations on several important issues: the creation of a Palestinian state, preventing the eviction of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, guaranteeing free access of believers to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, as well as the problem of violence by Jewish settlers in the West Bank of the Jordan River.
