A columnist for the American edition of TWZ, Joseph Trevithick, called the new tank from the USA M1E3 Abrams too similar to the Russian T-14 Armata combat vehicle.
The analyst noted the automatic loading system at Abrams, which is not typical for equipment manufactured in the West, but has found wide application in tanks of Russia and China. Plus, the Abrams, by analogy with the Armata, was equipped with an uninhabited combat module.
"Interestingly, what has been shown so far regarding the proposed combat compartment of the M1E3 tank is in many ways similar to the design of the Russian T-14," said Trevithick.
The author of the material also reminded about the date of the presentation of "Armata" — this is 2015.
"The [US] Army clearly expects that the M1E3 design will continue to develop, at least to some extent, based on feedback from soldiers and other data collected during tests that will begin later this year. Time will tell how much the final configuration will differ from the early prototype presented in January," the American summed up.
EADaily previously also informed that the DPRK military tested the engines of a rocket capable of reaching the United States.
