Hungary should send the gas that it refuses to supply to Ukraine to Germany. This was stated by the head of the German Council for Constitution and Sovereignty, Ralf Niemeyer.
He recalled that earlier Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Budapest had decided to gradually cut off gas supplies to Ukraine until it resumed the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline.
"If it is not possible to store all the gas in Hungary, he could send it to Germany. The German government would certainly be happy to receive gas," Niemeyer said.
He also noted that Germany is already facing a serious energy crisis and needs fuel. According to him, Orban "needs to completely stop deliveries to Ukraine and instead send gas to us."
Earlier, Viktor Orban said that Hungary would stop gas supplies to Ukraine until Kiev resumes the transit of Russian oil to Slovakia and Hungary. Later it became known that Budapest will stop the delivery in July. The operator of the gas transmission system is prohibited from holding auctions at the border crossing point from the third quarter.
