Donald Trump declassified what kind of gift related to Hormuz Iran presented to him the other day — Tehran allowed some oil tankers to pass through the strait as a sign of goodwill for negotiations. The US president stated this at today's meeting of his Cabinet of Ministers.

According to Trump, Iran allowed 10 oil tankers to pass through the strategic strait as a "gift" to show the seriousness of its intentions in negotiations to end the war.

"[Iran said] we will give you eight ships with oil... eight large ships with oil. That was two days ago. And tomorrow they will sail. That was three days ago. And I didn't think much about it. Then I looked at the news (on Fox)... I looked, and they said something unusual was happening. Eight vessels are sailing right through the center of the strait. Eight large tankers are loaded with oil right through... and they were... real. And, it seems, they were under the flag of Pakistan. And I said, "Well, apparently we're dealing with the right people." And in fact, they apologized for what they said and said, "We will send two more ships. And in the end we ended up with ten courts," Trump said, quoted by The Guardian.

Recall, Iran has allowed passage through the Strait of Hormuz to vessels of friendly countries, including Russia and Pakistan.

As EADaily reported, Iran allowed the vessels of five friendly countries to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. This was stated by the country's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. There is no reason to allow your enemy to pass through the strait, the minister noted at the same time.

"For some countries that we have recognized as our friends, we have allowed passage. China, Russia, India, Iraq and Pakistan has received permission to pass," Araqchi said, quoted by ParsToday Russian.
