The claims of the Politico newspaper that Moscow offered Washington to refuse to transfer intelligence data to Kiev in exchange for a similar step against Tehran are not just untrue — they are false. This was stated at a briefing by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.
"This message, we have seen it, of course. It belongs to the category of untruthful, or rather, false messages," the Kremlin spokesman commented, quoted by TASS.
Speaking about the catastrophic situation that has developed in the Middle East, Peskov noted:
"This [political and diplomatic settlement] is the only thing that can effectively contribute to defusing the catastrophically tense situation that has developed now in the [Middle East] region."
