The attack of the United States and Israel on Iran was due to the failure of diplomacy. This was stated by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in an interview with Rete 4 TV channel.
During the interview, host Mario Giordano asked her about the reasons for the attack on Iran. Answering his question, Meloni concluded that this was due to the failure of diplomacy. At the same time, her answer caused the journalist bewilderment and he caught Meloni in a lie.
"So you want to say, I'm sorry, I'm clarifying that negotiations and diplomacy have failed, <So, judging by your words, at the moment when the attack began, in your opinion, there was no room left for diplomacy?" Giordano asked.
In response, Meloni tried to justify herself. She said that Italy was not at the negotiating table. The prime minister also claimed that Tehran was allegedly delaying the negotiation process with Washington.
"There really weren't enough opportunities to reach an agreement," she said.
Recall, on February 28, the United States, together with Israel, launched a military operation against Iran. In response, Tehran began launching missile and drone strikes against Israel and American military bases in the Middle East. Earlier, Meloni stated that the conflict in the Middle East and the situation with drones over Cyprus are not separate conflicts, but a direct consequence of the "violation of international law" after the SMO began on Ukraine.
