Holding "gender party" parties in Russia, where the gender of the unborn child is announced, looks like antics and senseless copying of American customs.
This opinion was expressed to the TASS news agency by Vitaly Milonov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Paternity, Motherhood and Childhood issues.
"I see this tradition as another manifestation of antics and thoughtless copying of some American habits. You still start celebrating Thanksgiving," the deputy was indignant.
He recalled that in Russia has its own age-old tradition, in which parents prefer not to report the news ahead of time, as this is considered a bad omen.
According to the politician, it is completely out of character for Russian culture to arrange noisy celebrations about whether the guests will find out about the color of the future children's dowry — pink or blue.
"As a rule, we do not like to report news ahead of time — such a sign," concluded Milonov.
Recall that at the "gender party" parties, future parents and their guests will find out the sex of the child in a playful way ‑ by the color of the cake filling, the smoke of fireworks, confetti or other surprises.
It seems that there is nothing dangerous for the Russian age-old culture in this, but Vitaly Valentinovich has already become famous for his excessive concern even about the well-rooted world traditions.
As reported by EADaily, Milonov previously stated that the world-famous march of the German composer Felix Mendelssohn, which is considered a classic symbol of the wedding ceremony, is an example of "impenetrable vulgarity."
