The main competitor of Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the upcoming elections in Hungary, Peter Magyar, got into a sex scandal. This is reported by the HVG portal.

It all started with the fact that a photo of a bedroom with the inscription "soon" spread on social networks, which was a hint of the possible publication of a sex video. The video itself has not yet appeared in the public domain.

The Magyar himself recorded a video message the day before, in which he confirmed that such a compromise exists. He stated that in August 2024, after a party, he visited the apartment pictured in the photo and had a "voluntary intimate relationship" with his former partner.

"That night I didn't realize that I was dealing with a special services operation, so I allowed myself to be seduced," the politician tried to justify himself.

According to him, later he realized that "he had fallen into a classic discrediting situation in the Russian style." At the same time, he stressed that he had not committed anything illegal and his "conscience is clear." The politician himself is divorced.

Magyar also admitted that other people in the apartment could have drugs with them, but he himself did not use them and is ready to be tested.

"I do not know how the images and audio recordings illegally made in the apartment with the help of special services equipment will be mounted, but I propose to publish the full recording from the room without editing," the politician urged.

The article says that the Magyar accused Viktor Orban's ruling Fidesz party of leaking compromising material. However, they rejected any involvement in this story.

As EADaily reported, parliamentary elections in Hungary are scheduled for April 12. Orban's FIDESZ—Hungarian Civil Union party and its junior partners, the Christian Democrats, are fighting the opposition Tisa party. Its leader is a former government official Peter Magyar, who enjoys the support of the EU leadership.
