The Russian automotive market may be left without ten Chinese car brands, including Kaiyi, BAIC, SWM, Dongfeng, Jetta, Bestune, Wey, Rox, Oting and VGV. If they leave, Russians will face difficulties in buying spare parts for their cars.

Chinese cars are going to leave the Russian market: about a dozen car brands are ready to leave Russia due to competition and recycling, the Shot telegram channel draws attention.

The departure list includes the brands Kaiyi, BAIC, SWM, Dongfeng, Jetta, Bestune, Wey, Rox, Oting and VGV, according to TK. This is due to the fact that since January 1, many Chinese "non-giants" have suffered enormous losses after increasing the scrap collection. For a number of models, it is now 900 thousand rubles instead of 750 thousand. Because of this, the final price of cars is growing, despite the fact that sales were already small: in some cases, they did not exceed 3 thousand cars per year.

"In the very near future, these brands may leave the Russian market, as they are now working in the red," he explained. TC Vice-President of the National Automobile Union (NAS) Anton Shaparin.

Another reason for leaving is the lost competition to their own "Chinese": Geely, Haval and Chery seized the market.

For example, Kaiyi, for example, closed more than 30 dealerships last year, and the loss for 2024 amounted to 1.9 billion rubles. Although these cars were assembled at a factory in Kaliningrad. The situation is not much better for BAIC, SWM and Dongfeng.
