The billionaire's ex-wife Aliya Galitskaya committed suicide in the Istra isolation ward. This was stated in her telegram channel by human rights activist Eva Merkacheva.
She noted that it happened in a temporary detention facility (IVS) in Istra.
"But not in jail, but in IVS of Istra. That does not mitigate the tragedy. Just questions not to the FSIN, but to the police. Galitskaya was alone in the cell. She left a note in which she blames her ex—husband, a powerful and wealthy man (with all the consequences), for what happened," Merkacheva writes.
On the eve of the Istra court, Aliya Galitskaya, suspected of extorting $ 150 million from her ex-husband Alexander Galitsky, was detained for 2 months — until April 3.
According to investigators, Galitskaya, during phone calls, correspondence and during personal meetings, under the threat of spreading information disgraceful to her ex-husband, as well as information that could cause significant harm to his rights and legitimate interests, demanded over $ 150 million.
