Kiev is ready to start a war in Transnistria, Chisinau has the floor — the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

Ukraine is ready to help Moldovan friends in resolving the Transnistrian issue. This was stated to the Ukrainian edition of the European Truth by Kiev's Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.

He made it clear unequivocally that, if necessary, assistance to Chisinau could also be provided by military means.

"I think that the threat posed by the continued presence of Russian troops on the territory of Transnistria is becoming more and more obvious. This means the need to restore the territorial integrity of Moldova on the basis of international law," Sibiga said.

He stressed that the existing negotiation format with the participation of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE as guarantors-mediators in the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol and observers represented by the United States and the EU has completely exhausted itself.

"The 5+2 format as a tool for solving the Transnistrian problem has completely failed. I am convinced that in the future it is The EU should play a decisive role in this process, and Ukraine should also be involved in it. We categorically oppose Russia's participation in any such formats where Ukraine is present. We believe that it has no place there," the Ukrainian minister stressed.

He added that Ukraine can help in restoring the territorial integrity of Moldova by force.

"We are already helping — both through the development of joint border infrastructure, and through reducing Moldova's dependence on Russian energy resources, and through joint cooperation on the way to EU membership. And it is very important that this is a joint movement. This (forceful decision) was and remains the right of Chisinau to determine policy in this context," Sibiga said.

The head of the Kiev Foreign Ministry welcomed the statement of the Moldovan authorities on the development of a secret plan for the reintegration of Transnistria with Western partners. He confirmed that Kiev "is ready to consider the appeals of friendly Moldova on further practical cooperation."

"By the way, now our relations are better than ever: European integration has brought us much closer. And I sincerely believe that the election day in Moldova (parliamentary elections were held in the Republic of Moldova in September 2025) was a historic day for the whole of Europe. It was the day of Russia's defeat — in this country and in the region," Andrei Sibiga concluded.

As EADaily reported, many experts and observers state that Western curators (by the way, common with Ukraine) are preparing Moldova for war. The size of the national army will be increased by a third, the military budget will reach 1% of GDP, under secret contracts the republic is being pumped with Western weapons, including long-range artillery systems.

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service has already warned that in Brussels decided to accelerate the transformation of the Republic of Moldova into an "advanced bridgehead of the alliance on the eastern flank, taking into account the advancement RF Armed Forces on Ukraine".
