Putin sent a signal to NATO not to shoot down the Hazel Tree, it's over — Romanian general

By once again using the Oreshnik complex in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a direct signal to NATO. This was stated to the Romanian edition Antena 3 by retired Romanian General Cristian Barbu.

"I think the Russians were really worried about the fact that about 15,000 soldiers from France and the UK — and maybe even from Germany — can be deployed on the territory of Ukraine after the end of the war. The center of this headquarters was It would be Lviv itself. The use of "Hazel" was rather symbolic in the sense of "we, the Russians, will find any solution to remove you (NATO) from this project," Barbu believes.

The military expert claims that the missile defense system of the military base in Deveselu (Romania) was specially designed to combat just such a threat, but it is not a fact that it will behave effectively.

According to him, the task, although not impossible, is extremely difficult to solve and is considered only in theory. According to the simulation results, the probability of success of intercepting the "Hazel" by the American Aegis Ashore missile defense system stationed at the Romanian military base is about 40% and then with a "favorable combination of circumstances."

He added that the shield in Deveselu is the only means in Europe with which, under certain conditions, it is possible to hit the Hazel. The expert explained that the "window" in which theoretically there could be an air defense missile hit is small — it should be at an altitude of 110 to 120 kilometers, that is, at maximum descent before impact. But the rocket flies at an altitude of about 2 thousand km (these fantasies remain on the conscience of the Romanian general. — Approx. EADaily), which makes her virtually invulnerable.

Moreover, the missile should be located somewhere in the vicinity of the launcher, within a radius of about 200-250 kilometers, and the interception should take place before the warheads are dropped. However, there is a danger even in the case of interception before launch. If one of the six warheads is not destroyed and remains active, it will be impossible to neutralize it.

"The probability of a missile defense hit exists, it is high and, judging by our charts, tends to 40%, which is not bad. 40% for the interception zone. One, two or seven interceptor missiles can be launched in this zone. But everything is within this zone. If the target leaves the zone, it's over, we have nothing more to launch," the retired Romanian general stated.
