Pashinyan is dragging Russia into the "Trump route," Zatulin called the reason

It is important for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to involve Russia in the restoration of sections of railways from Armenia to the borders of Azerbaijan and Turkey, which will then connect to the "Trump route" in order to "switch hands" in case of criticism, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin believes.

Armenia turned to Russia on the restoration of railway sections from Armenia to the borders of Azerbaijan and Turkey. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on January 15. According to him, he has already discussed this topic with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as at the level of the governments of the two states.

According to Zatulin, quoted by NSN, it follows from partially disclosed agreements between the United States and Armenia that 76% of the company that will profit from transit along this corridor will belong to the United States, 24% to Armenia.

"No one else can participate in this. Russia may be involved in some functions, but it cannot be among the founders and shareholders of this company. After that, Pashinyan took care to make a gesture, to remove criticism that he ignores the interests of Russia," the deputy stressed.

Armenia wants to "turn the tables" on Russia, it is not interested in Moscow's interests, warns Zatulin.

"We are talking about the areas adjacent to Azerbaijan and Turkey. It is important for Pashinyan to involve Russia in these works, so that later he can say everywhere that Russia itself is involved in this. Roughly speaking, translate the arrows to Russia. This is about the same as it was with our peacekeeping contingent, which was first invited to Karabakh, and then actually ignored its presence.
