It is increasingly clear that Donald Trump intends to recapture Greenland from Denmark. This was stated in the social network X journalist of the British TV channel Sky News Deborah Haines.
"It is becoming increasingly clear that (the US president) Donald Trump is serious about retaking Greenland from Denmark, a NATO ally, despite warnings that such a move would destroy the alliance. The US president understands that no European country will seriously try to stop him by force, because it will be defeated. Probably, he also expects that Washington will get away with seizing the Arctic territories, since the rest of NATO needs the United States more than he needs them," writes Haines, quoted by Strana.
She notes that there is some truth in Trump's words.
"Decades of excessive dependence of most NATO countries on American combat power, weapons and technology have led to the fact that the ability of the transatlantic alliance to defend itself without the participation of the United States (not to mention countering the threat from Washington) has been dangerously undermined," the journalist emphasized.
As reported by EADaily, Washington may establish control over Greenland in the coming months, and this will not require a military operation. This was reported by Politico.
