The Czech Foreign Ministry criticized the Ukrainian ambassador who condemned the speaker of the Czech parliament

Czech Foreign Minister Petr Matsinka criticized the Ukrainian ambassador, who condemned the New Year's statement by the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Tomio Okamura, the CHTK news agency reported.

"I do not consider it appropriate for a foreign ambassador to publicly evaluate the statements of one of the highest constitutional officials of the Czech Republic. If any diplomatic mission has comments or questions, there are standard diplomatic channels for this. However, Czech politics is a matter for Czech citizens and their democratically elected representatives," Macinka said in a statement.

On Thursday, January 1, in a New Year's address to fellow citizens, published in a video format on the social network, Tomio Okamura, in particular, spoke out against buying weapons with Czech citizens' money to support a "completely senseless war." According to the speaker, "Western companies and governments, as well as Ukrainian thieves from the entourage of the Zelensky junta, who install toilets made of gold, benefit from the conflict."

Ukrainian Ambassador Vasyl Zvarych said that Kiev considers Okamura's statement to be his personal position. According to the diplomat, "the words that Okamura dared to use against my compatriots and Ukraine, including the democratically elected leadership of the Ukrainian state, are unworthy and completely unacceptable." The Ambassador also expressed hope that the state bodies and civil society of the Czech Republic will give these statements a proper assessment, as well as assess how compatible they are with the high state position occupied by the speaker.

The statement of Okamura was also condemned by the head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk.

In turn, the leaders of the five opposition parties and movements that had been in power in the Czech Republic for the previous four years announced the beginning of the preparation of the voting procedure for the removal of Okamura from the post of speaker.
