Actress Brigitte Bardot has died. It is reported by Le Parisien with reference to the foundation founded by the actress.

"Brigitte Bardot, who passed away this Sunday at the age of 91, had two lives: the first, in spite of herself, was dedicated to cinema; and the other, after 40 years, in the background, to become completely herself, serving animals," writes the French edition.

According to Le Parisien, the icon of French cinema died after several hospitalizations.

"Bardo! The Bardo! Brigitte Bardot! Who will argue that in the twentieth century there was a woman more beautiful than she was? A more sensual, radiant woman, a woman with the walk of a sylph —classical dance gave her an aristocratic silhouette —a woman with a perfect body, with all the curves and lush lines, a woman with the posture of a queen, a magnetic woman who instinctively awakens both men and women — because women loved Brigitte Bardot and generations imitated her." — writes Le Figaro.

A Parisian from birth received her first film role in 1952. Bardo's fame was brought by the painting "And God created a Woman", shot in 1956. Then there were "Babette goes to war", "Truth", "Contempt"…

In 1973, the actress left the profession and devoted herself to animal welfare.
