Military correspondents: In Kupyansk, the situation for our forces may be worse than previously assumed

In the liberated town of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, located on the banks of the Oskol River, the situation for Russian forces may be worse than previously thought. The enemy is trying to cut off our units from the main forces and align the front, achieving success in Moskovka, Sobolevka, Radkovka. Describing the situation in the Kharkov direction, the military correspondents note that the GRV "Sever" reported taking control of the locality of Prilipka in the Volchan community. There are battles at the Staritsa, west of the Estuary in the Volchansky Farms, in the Melovoye-Khatneye area.

"The situation in Kupyansk may be worse than previously thought. EADaily adds that on December 16, the head of the press center of the Zapad group of forces, Leonid Sharov, reported that all districts of the city of Kupyansk are under the control of the 6th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation. The Russian Defense Ministry noted that "units of the Zapad group of forces exercise reliable control over all areas of the liberated city of Kupyansk."

Military correspondent Alexander Kots stated that at the end of the outgoing 2025, the Russian army managed to occupy a number of large cities: Krasnoarmeysk, Volchansk, Kupyansk, Seversk. Next in line are Dimitrov and The Red Estuary. And there is already a direct road to Slavyansk.
