Residents of the city of Troitsk (Chelyabinsk region) did not support the initiative to erect a monument "SMO Soldier's Family". This was reported in the telegram channel by the press service of the city administration.
Troitsky sculptor Alexander Timofeev at the end of November offered to transfer the sculpture he created to the city and install it near the local Veterans' House. Moreover, Timofeev's sculpture "Palms of Fate" has already been installed in Troitsk. The mayor Dmitry Gatov supported the public discussion and initiated a survey of residents on this topic.
"According to the results of the survey, the majority of residents of Troich opposed the installation of the monument," the report says.
The administration assured that the opinion of residents will be taken into account in further work on urban public spaces.
