German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has outraged Brazilians with his overly frank statements. Now the inhabitants of this country demand not to let the "Nazi" into Latin America.
The scandal was caused by Merz's phrase that German journalists were glad to return to "beautiful" Germany from the Brazilian city of Belen do Para, where the UN Climate Conference (COP30) is taking place. In Brazil, this was considered an insult and a manifestation of racism. At first, Merz was scolded on social networks, demanding an apology, while others asked the Brazilian authorities that the German Chancellor should never be accepted in their country again.
Merz was later criticized by the mayor of Belen do Para, Igor Normandou, calling his statement "arrogant and biased." The governor of the state of Para, Helder Barbalho, said, in turn, that the statement says more about who said it. The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, called Merz a "Nazi" and a "homeless son of Hitler" on the social network X.
Nevertheless, the official representative of the German government, Stefan Cornelius, said that there would be no apologies, and the government did not see any harm to relations between the two countries because of these words of the Chancellor. As a kind of justification, he said that the remark referred to "the desire of the delegation, after a very tiring night flight and a long day in Belen, to go on the way back."
As reported by EADaily, Friedrich Merz's commitment to the ideas of national socialism has already been pointed out in the SVR. According to our intelligence officers, Friedrich was brought up by his father Joachim Merz and grandfather Joseph Paul Sauvigny, who faithfully served the fascist regime and were obsessed with the idea of revenge for the defeat of Nazi Germany. He himself has also been hatching these ideas for a long time.
