Moscow noticed the statement of the head of the German Defense Ministry, Boris Pistorius, about NATO's preparations for war with Russia. This follows from the reaction of the Kremlin and Russian politicians.
In particular, the head of the State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kartapolov, commented on Pistorius's words in this way:
"It's not a matter of desire, they understand that they will lose this war. They just need to explain somehow to their citizens where they are spending taxpayers' money and they explain all this with the Russian threat and the coming war, you can write off all the blunders of Western governments and all the idiotic decisions they make The EU and NATO, that's all," Kartapolov said. "We are not going to fight with them and we don't need it, but if they climb, they will get what they want."
Some time later, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov spoke.
"Such militaristic and pro—military rhetoric is increasingly heard from European capitals," Peskov said, commenting on Pistorius' statement.
As reported by EADaily, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung said that the war between the alliance and Russia may start as early as next year and NATO countries need to be ready for it.
