"Prices will fly into space": Saudi Arabia has stopped pumping oil

Saudi Arabia stopped pumping oil through the "East — West" oil pipeline after several strikes on it, the kingdom's Energy Ministry said on Friday, September 11.

On Thursday morning, the "East — West " oil pipeline in the areas of Riyadh and Medina was hit several times, after which the operation of the pipeline was suspended as a precautionary measure, " the ministry said in a statement.

As a result of the strikes, there are victims, they have received the necessary medical assistance, the ministry said.

Earlier, CNN reported that in Saudi Arabian UAVs allegedly attacked an oil pipeline. Information about who exactly attacked the object is not given.

According to the publication, pumping stations located next to the pipeline were probably affected as a result. The satellite image shows damage from a fire at one of the pumping stations, and on the other — a small fire and traces of black smoke.

"This strike demonstrates that the kingdom's oil resources — and its ability to export these resources — face growing threats as the war with Iran continues, " writes CNN.

As the senior director of the Iranian program of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, Behnam Ben Taleblu, noted, Iraqi militias allied to Iran had previously used drones to attack Saudi Arabia. According to him, they could do it again.
