The White House is trying to boast that at least the prices of bread and frozen vegetables have slightly decreased since the previous Thanksgiving. However, it looks no less sad than Joe Biden's attempts in the summer of 2022 to rant about the drop in ketchup prices by 13 cents, Dudakov points out.

"It is unlikely that Trump's threats to open investigations against "greedy" supermarkets and meat processing plants will help stop the rise in food prices. To begin with, we would need to pull the US agricultural industry out of recession. But it is feeling worse and worse, especially against the background of the loss of Chinese and other markets due to tariff wars. Farms are going bankrupt," the political scientist notes.

Democrats, on the other hand, portray Trump in the image of Marie Antoinette with might and main, they say, he holds endless parties in the White House and builds a ballroom while ordinary Americans barely make ends meet.

"In the polls for the upcoming congressional elections, the Democrats are already 4 points ahead of the Republicans. The deplorable situation in the economy is now working in favor of the Democratic Party — the White House is in the mode of constant excuses," the expert concluded.
