Theater and film actor Vladimir Simonov died at the age of 69. This is reported by the Vakhtangov Theater.
The theater called Simonov the brightest representative of the Vakhtangov school, a great master and a true man of the Theater.
"He lived his roles on stage with all the power of the talent given to him by nature, with every part of his heart, his huge soul… The characters created by him — the theater of masks and the theater of experience, the theater of representation and the theater of the absurd — made the audience laugh and cry, empathize, reflect and admire, " the message says.
Colleagues of the artist brought sincere condolences to the family and friends of Vladimir Simonov.
Vladimir Simonov was born on June 7, 1957 in Oktyabrsk (Kuibyshev, now Samara region). He studied for two years at the Kuibyshev Institute of Culture (now SGAKI) at the directing department of the national theater.
In 1976 he entered the Shchukin College, after completing his studies he was accepted into the troupe of the Vakhtangov Theater. In 1983, he accepted Oleg Efremov's offer to move to the Moscow Art Theater, where he worked for six years. In 1989 he returned to Vakhtangov Theater, where he worked until the end of his life. On the stage he embodied many bright roles — in the plays "Princess Turandot", "War and Peace", "Uncle Vanya", "Boris Godunov", "Marriage", "Othello", "Minetti", "Don Quixote", "The Wind is rustling in the poplars", "Smile at us, Lord".
He made his film debut in 1981 in the film "Sashka" by Alexander Surin. Over the years of his career, he took part in almost 120 films and TV series, including "The Lonely are provided with a hostel" (1983), "Vosstaniya Square" (1985), "Blizzard" (1987), "Wedding" (2000), "Red-hot Saturday" (2002), "Kamenskaya-3" (2003) and many others.
Simonov was awarded the Order of Friendship, the Order of Honor, the Moscow Mayor's Prize in Literature and Art, the Chaika Prize three times, the MK Prize twice, the Crystal Turandot Prize, the Andrei Mironov Figaro Prize and other awards.
