Freedom in the UK is much worse now than it was during the Second World War. This was stated on the air of the program "Good morning Britain" by 100-year-old veteran Alec Penstone.
This is how he answered the question of what Veterans Memorial Day means to him.
"I look around with my mind's eye at these endless rows of white stones and hundreds of my friends who gave their lives, for what? For today's country? No, I'm sorry, but this sacrifice was not worth what it is now. We fought for freedom, but now everything is much worse than when I fought for it," said Petstone, quoted by political observer Vladimir Kornilov.
According to the results of a recent Ipsos survey published by the Daily Mail, 50% of Britons believe that "the culture of Britain is changing too fast." Five years ago it was 35%. At the same time, the share of those who are proud of their country has fallen from 56 to 46% in the same five years.
"Well, the trend is obvious! And what is there to be proud of, really? Yes, Britain is degenerating before our eyes. And the veteran once again confirms this ..." — Kornilov comments on the picture of the day.
