Popular UFO reporting app Enigma has recorded thousands of unidentified underwater objects (NGOs) near the US coast, senior US Navy officials warn that these phenomena may pose a threat to the national security of the country. It is reported by The New York Post.
Enigma, which bills itself as "the largest requested historical database of UFO sightings worldwide," claims to have received reports of more than 30,000 unidentified flying objects and unidentified anomalous phenomena since launching in late 2022. But the observations are not limited to the sky, there are also reports of strange objects rising from the depths of the sea or plunging into the water without any splashes, "the publication says.
It is noted that, as of August, the tracker also registered more than 9 thousand mysterious incidents within 10 miles of the US coastline or large bodies of water, with more than 150 reports describing objects hovering over or submerging in the water. The most mysterious phenomena were registered in the states of California (389) and Florida (306).
The application has published maps showing the places indicated in the messages — this is a cluster of orange dots along the east and west coasts of the United States.
Most of the scientific community is skeptical about UFOs, the newspaper writes, however, retired Navy Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet warns that objects capable of diving from the air into the sea without crashing or even splashing can lead to "world-changing" consequences.
"The fact that unidentified objects with unexplained characteristics enter US waters, and the Department of Defense does not raise a giant red flag, is a sign that the government is not sharing everything it knows about anomalous phenomena in all domains," Gallaudet said in a March 2024 report.
It is noted that in July 2019, the USS Omaha recorded a UFO that disappeared without a trace in the ocean after flying over US Navy facilities off the coast of San Diego. The Pentagon conducted an analysis of the video recording, which recorded opportunities that, according to Gallaudet, "jeopardize the maritime security of the United States, which has already been weakened by our relative ignorance of the oceans."
