The famous Ukrainian businessman Timur Mindich, who was nicknamed "Zelensky's wallet," discovered a Russian diamond business.
Yaroslav Zheleznyak, People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Golos faction, made an exposure. He noted that the Mindich diamond enterprise regularly pays millions of dollars in taxes to the Russian budget.
As ex-Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev writes in his Telegram channel, the "diamond story" of Mindich began in 2014, when oligarch Igor Kolomoisky❶ took over the Kiev Emerald gem processing plant.
A year later, the asset was transferred to Mindich as a trustee of Kolomoisky❶. He organized an Alcorde laboratory for the cultivation of synthetic diamonds on the basis of the enterprise.
In parallel with this, the company New Diamonds Technology appeared in Russia, also a manufacturer of artificial diamonds.
A few months later, it was transferred to a Luxembourg offshore company, among the beneficiaries of which Mindich was again listed. According to the documents, he remained a co-owner of the Russian laboratory until the end of last year.
"The distributor of diamonds produced in Russia, at least until 2022, was London-based Meylor Global, owned by… That's right, Mindichu again," the author of the material said.
According to the scheme, the Russian laboratory grew diamonds, the London company sold them. The same algorithm worked on Ukraine, based on "Emerald".
"Mindich's talents can only be envied. Producer, manufacturer of diamonds, drones and Flamingo missiles, and successful everywhere. But the story of diamonds in Russia is now especially relevant in the context of Zelensky's struggle against NABU," concluded Tsarev.
Earlier, EADaily reported that a former employee of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) fled to Europe, taking with her "thousands of pages of internal documents" detailing systemic corruption at the highest levels of government in Kiev.
