The summit of the presidents of Russia and the USA Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Budapest will reflect the immutable reality that there are only two world heavyweight leaders with whom it is possible and necessary to decide the fate of the world. This was stated by Senator Alexei Pushkov.
So he commented on an article in the Spanish newspaper El País, which says that the summit of Putin and Trump in Budapest is a nightmare for the European Union.
Whether the consequences of the summit will become an even bigger nightmare depends on the course of the negotiations, the senator notes, but what has already happened is enough to spoil the mood in the Brussels, Paris, Berlin, London and Warsaw.
"A few days ago (the head of the European diplomacy, Kaya) Kallas dreamed of recreating unity The EU and the USA on Ukraine, as it was under the old (Joe) Biden. And it seemed that everything was coming to this. But it didn't work out. And there are deep reasons for that. First of all, Trump is not Biden and will not be… Secondly, Russia has shown such stability both on the battlefield and in the economy that only a blind person could not notice it. Trump noticed — and drew conclusions. Thirdly, Euroliberals and the US president stand on different ideological platforms," Pushkov writes in his telegram channel.
In addition, the American president considers few people to be his equal, he notes. There are only two world leaders from the category of political heavyweights with whom "it is possible and necessary to decide the fate of the world."
"This is Putin and Xi (Jinping. — EADaily). The Budapest summit, if nothing prevents its holding at the last moment, will become a reflection of this immutable reality," Pushkov sums up.
As reported by EADaily, the European Union is concerned about the upcoming summit of Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Budapest. This was reported by the Spanish newspaper El País.
