US President Donald Trump told Vladimir Zelensky at a meeting at the White House that the United States does not intend to supply Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, the Axios portal reports, citing sources.
"On Friday, during a tense meeting, President Trump told ... Zelensky that he did not intend to supply long—range Tomahawk missiles, "at least for the time being,"" the material says.
According to sources, Zelensky actively insisted on supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, but Trump rebuffed him and did not show flexibility on this issue.
Before the upcoming meeting between Trump and Zelensky on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the American leader — one of the longest since the beginning of 2025. The parties discussed, in particular, the situation around Ukraine. Following its results, Trump announced that he intends to hold a personal meeting with Putin in Budapest.
After a conversation with Putin, Trump, commenting on a possible decision to supply Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles, said that the United States itself needs them despite having a large number.
