The leader of the British right-wing populist Reform UK party, Nigel Farage, said that if he becomes the next British prime minister, he will shoot down Russian planes allegedly violating NATO airspace.

In an interview with Bloomberg, he was asked what he would do if Russian aircraft violated the airspace of alliance allies if he became prime minister.

"We need to shoot them down," he replied.

According to the agency, Farage repeated his earlier opinion that one of the reasons for the outbreak of the conflict on Ukraine has become the "endless" expansion of NATO and The European Union to the east.

When asked whether it is worth using frozen Russian assets to help Kiev, the leader of Reform UK said that it is worth it if these funds were obtained illegally. Following the summit, the French leader said that 26 countries had expressed their readiness to host Ukraine's deterrence forces after the ceasefire.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that any scenario of the deployment of NATO troops on the Ukraine is categorically unacceptable to Russia, fraught with a sharp escalation. Statements on the possibility of deploying a contingent from the member countries of the Alliance to The Ministry previously called the statements in Ukraine, voiced in the UK and other European countries, incitement to the continuation of hostilities.

The North Atlantic Council of NATO previously entrusted Russia is responsible for incidents with UAVs and airplanes in Poland, Estonia and other countries, while Moscow has already stated that no country has given any evidence of Russian involvement.
