Poland has not joined the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative, which provides for the purchase by NATO countries of American weapons for Ukraine. This was announced by Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.
"Poland has not yet announced its participation in the PURL program for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine. Poland is showing other activities," he said.
At the same time, the minister called the initiative "serious" and noted that the question of Poland's participation remains open.
Recall, in early August, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Denis Shmygal said that the United States and NATO is launching a new mechanism to support Ukraine through the PURL initiative. It provides for the rapid supply of weapons through voluntary contributions from the countries of the alliance. On September 2, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the alliance countries had already purchased $2 billion worth of lethal and defensive weapons for Ukraine from the United States. Later, Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth called on NATO allies to actively purchase US weapons as part of PURL.
