The United States, together with its allies, will take the necessary steps if Russia does not sit down at the negotiating table in the near future. This was stated at a meeting of the Ramstein group by Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth.
He promised that his department, if necessary, would do its part, as only the United States can do.
"It is time to put an end to this tragic war, stop the senseless bloodshed and sit down at the negotiating table. If the war does not end, if the path to peace does not appear in the near future, the United States, together with our allies, will take the necessary steps to entrust Russia is being blamed for the ongoing aggression. If we have to take this step, the US military department is ready to do its part of the work — in a way that only the United States can do," Hegseth said, quoted by Strana.

In general, Hegseth's speech at today's Ramstein meeting was devoted to the fact that Europe should spend more on purchasing weapons from the United States for Ukraine under the PURL program.
