Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak recalled that Moscow has always gone for additional gas supplies to Europe when the European market needed it. RIA Novosti informs about this today, October 15.
The Kremlin, Novak added, agreed to additional volumes, even if it was sometimes unprofitable.
This statement was made by a member of the Cabinet of Ministers at Russian Energy Week.
"When there were cold days (in Europe — EADaily), during this period we supplied additional volumes of gas outside the long-term contract, ensuring daily consumption. And Russia has always done this," he said.
EADaily previously also informed that the Russian government explained the reason for the reorientation of the country's energy sector to the East.
