The Russian army is advancing on Seversk in the DPR, covering the city from three directions at once — from the north, east and south. This was stated by military expert Andrei Marochko.
"Our servicemen are now really advancing [to Seversk] from several directions at once. The most successful site is just the north of the settlement. That's where our servicemen are already trying to go," Marochko told TASS.
According to the expert, this is more of a reconnaissance battle, there is no talk of a full-fledged consolidation there yet.
In addition, the Russian Armed Forces are advancing from the east — from Verkhnekamenskoye, from the Serebryanka area, and are pressing from the south.
"That is, now there is such a semi-capture of this settlement. It is simply impossible to act there in any other way: it is, of course, inexpedient to go head-on to the fortified areas [of the enemy]," Marochko explained.
Seversk is a complex settlement, since it was originally built "as an outpost back in the days of the Russian Empire," with a large number of strategic heights of the Armed Forces of Ukraine around it. Therefore, there is progress in literally meters, not hundreds of meters, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are "seriously resisting," the expert added.
