The Supreme Court of the Republic of South Africa (South Africa) will execute Russia's decision to recover 10 billion rubles from Google Corporation. This is reported by Vedomosti.
The warrant has already been published and sent to the sheriff on October 1 for execution. The execution of the decision in South Africa was confirmed by Art De Lex Law Firm partner Arthur Zurabyan and director of Pagel Schullenburg Law firm, representing the interests of the bankruptcy trustee of Google LLC, Zane Hartman.
"Following the hearing, an order was issued to seize all assets of Google International LLC located in the jurisdiction of the country," the publication says.
The publication emphasizes that applications asking to comply with Russia's decision regarding Google were also sent to the courts of a dozen jurisdictions in Africa, Asia and Europe. The court in South Africa became the first instance that decided to seize the company's assets.
As EADaily reported, in July 2024, the Moscow Arbitration Court recovered 10 billion rubles from the American company Google in favor of the bankrupt Russian division of Google LLC.
The court granted the claim of the bankruptcy trustee of the Russian division of the corporation Valery Talyarovsky, declaring illegal the transfer of almost 9.5 billion rubles of dividends to Google LLC to the parent company Google and the transfer of taxes on dividends in the amount of 500 million rubles.
