French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecorny resigned after presenting part of the updated cabinet. This was announced today, October 6, by the press service of the Elysee Palace.
It is reported that French President Emmanuel Macron approved the resignation on the morning of October 6. At the same time, on October 5, Lecorn presented part of the new Cabinet of Ministers. Among the 18 named names, 13 ministers from the previous government retained their posts or were appointed to new positions. This was met with serious criticism from the opposition, which stated that it would raise the issue of a vote of no confidence in the Cabinet of Ministers.
Recall that Sebastien Lecornu headed the government on September 9, 2025. He spent 27 days as prime minister, which is less than any other prime minister in the recent history of France. At the same time, Lecorny was already the fifth head of the French cabinet in two years and was replaced in this position by Francois Bayrou, who headed the government for nine months.
