Russian President Vladimir Putin in his speech at a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi has sent important signals to the West. This is written by the Indian edition of Firstpost.
"It was both a warning and a manifesto that Russia is ready for a long—term confrontation both in the Ukrainian issue and with Western hegemony in general," the publication says, a fragment of which is quoted by RIA Novosti.
The Valdai Forum has long been one of the Kremlin's most important platforms for designating its policy, the newspaper notes. In his current speech, Putin touched upon the problems of the new world order, bilateral relations with the United States, India and China, as well as the situation around the Ukrainian conflict.
According to Putin, all is not lost for Europe, there are still nationally oriented forces there. "If they continue to gain momentum, Europe will revive," the Russian leader said. But it does not depend on Russia, but from the Europeans themselves, he added.
As reported by EADaily, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who spoke at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club, gave the impression of a self-confident political leader, said British analyst Alexander Mercuris.
