In the elections to the lower house of the Czech parliament, the opposition movement "Action of Dissatisfied Citizens", led by former Prime Minister Andrei Babish, is leading.
According to the statistics department, it is gaining 38.27% after counting 50% of the votes. This is followed by the ruling right-liberal coalition SPOLU ("Together") of Prime Minister Petr Fiala with 20.31%. Before the elections, Fiala noted that the elections will determine whether the Czech Republic will go further to the West or turn to the East.
The total number of candidates is about 4.5 thousand people. Only 200 of them will get seats in parliament.
The two-day voting ended on Saturday, October 4. The turnout was 68.35%, no serious violations were recorded.
Observers emphasize that Andrei Babish's ANO is gaining significantly more than 30%, which was according to polls, and the far-right SPD is less than 12-14%, which was predicted. The Communists are not gaining a passing score yet.
