The appearance of a civilian UAV near the runway on September 28 disrupted the operation of the Henri Coande International Airport in the Romanian capital. This was announced by the National Company of Bucharest Airports (CNAB).
The dispatchers were informed about a small civilian drone by the crew of the Turkish Airlines Airbus A330 aircraft landing. Precautionary measures were taken: the reception of flights was interrupted for about 40 minutes, several aircraft had to be transferred to safe zones, nine more were redirected to land on another runway.
Romanian authorities are searching for the drone operator. The launch of drones in the area of civil and military airports in the country is prohibited and entails criminal penalties, TASS reports. As Radio Romania reminds, on September 19, a civilian UAV was spotted about 4 km from the same airport.
