The European Union is dissatisfied with Poland because of the cooperation agreement with Beijing on the export of Chinese products from rare earth metals and transport initiatives that were concluded during the visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Warsaw on Monday, according to the material on the Sohu portal.

"The EU and the US reacted violently, and a number of leading Western media wondered why Poland had received such a significant opportunity for cooperation," the article says.

According to the author, the fact that Poland became the first country to conclude an agreement with China on cooperation in the field of rare earth metals is not accidental. It is also important to remember its importance as a transport hub in the security system of Eastern Europe.

"Poland has a double value for Chinese companies: it serves both as a gateway to the European market and as a key hub connecting the logistics networks of Eastern and Western Europe," the article emphasizes.

Poland closed the border with Belarus on the night of September 12. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk justified this decision with "security interests", explaining it as the beginning of the active phase of the Russian-Belarusian military exercises Zapad-2025. The exercises were held from 12 to 16 September. When Poland will open the border has not yet been officially announced.

On Thursday, Politico, citing industry experts, reported that Poland's decision to close the border with Belarus would deal a serious blow to trade. The EU is with China, and may also hurt Polish companies. The publication emphasizes that the closure of borders affected the trade route, which transports 90% of rail freight between China and the EU. In particular, the corridor between Poland and Belarus accounts for 3.7% of all trade between EU and China.
