Law enforcement officers detained a group of people in Kolomna, Moscow region, who were engaged in providing financial services to telephone fraudsters from Ukrainian call centers.
This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk in her Telegram channel. She noted that the daily turnover of funds received as a result of the commission of crimes amounted to about 10 million rubles.
"The investigator of the SU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kolomna has previously established that the residents of the Moscow region detained on suspicion of fraud and Krasnodar Region engaged in the provision of financial services to telephone fraudsters from Ukrainian call centers. In particular, they received, cashed out, converted into cryptocurrency and transferred money that was received from victims as a result of the activities of remotely working scammers,"the post says.
The criminal business was carried out in a rented apartment in Odintsovo city district. Here, the attackers organized a round-the-clock office, from where they went to ATMs at any time and cashed out the stolen funds before the accounts were blocked.
It is reported that during the arrest of the suspects, numerous mobile phones and bank cards, office equipment, money, documentation and other items of evidentiary value were found.
"The analysis of the seized showed that the daily turnover of funds obtained by criminal means amounted to about 10 million rubles. Illegal activity was stopped by employees of the GUUR of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia together with operatives of the Moscow region and representatives of the FSB of Russia," concluded Volk.
