Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev warned Western countries about the consequences that the implementation of NATO plans to create a "no-fly zone over Ukraine" will have.
"But seriously, the implementation of the provocative idea of Kiev and other idiots to create a "no-fly zone over Ukraine" and the opportunity for NATO countries to shoot down our UAVs will mean only one thing — NATO's war with Russia," he wrote in your telegram channel.
As Medvedev stressed, "things should be called by their proper names!"
He also noted that Moscow was "amused by the powerful European initiative "Eastern Guardian".
"This seems to be all that remains of the coalition of the willing," said the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council.
EADaily adds: earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that NATO countries need to start intercepting Russian drones and missiles over Ukraine.
"Technically, we, as NATO and the EU, would be able to do this, but this is not a decision that Poland can make on its own, only together with its allies," Sikorski said in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
According to him, shooting down Russian drones over Ukraine "will be beneficial" for Western countries, since Europe needs to speed up "preparations for defense" and adopt the Ukrainian experience of fighting drones. He also suggested coordinating actions against the Russian "shadow fleet" in the Baltic Sea and controlling the passage of ships into its waters by NATO forces.
