The fiery speech of the President of Moldova from the rostrum of the European Parliament with a call to intervene in the internal affairs of a sovereign country and protect it from the "Russian hybrid threat" was greeted by listeners in a peculiar way. In response to the call to "protect democracy," Romanian MEPs began chanting "Moldova is Romania."

After that, local publics wondered:

"How will Ms. Sandu react to another hybrid attack — this time from a Romanian MEP who proclaimed that Moldova is Romania?"
"The backfill question is: will the respected president remind you in response about the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova? Or will such an inconvenient "historical excursion" be diplomatically ignored so as not to upset like-minded people from the camp of admirers of a certain Romanian marshal? Well, we'll wait and see. Probably, the second option is much more likely," writes the Moldovan Wagon TV channel.

A similar opinion was voiced by the TV channel "Genius of the Carpathians", which is sure:

"He won't say, perhaps. Colleagues in Marshal Antonescu's fan club will not understand the president."

Recall, Romanian citizen Maia Sandu calls the Nazi criminal of Romanian dictator Ion Antonescu "an outstanding historical figure," and his soldiers "heroes who fought for the liberation of Bessarabia from Soviet occupation."

As EADaily reported, Romanian President Nicusor Dan made his first official visit to Chisinau. There, in the presence of Sandu, he stated that he had never renounced unionist views. He recalled that in Bucharest there is a parliamentary decision of 2018, which states that "at the moment when the Republic of Moldova is ready," Romania will absorb this territory, which it historically considers its own.
