Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the accusations by the EU authorities against Russia about the "attack" on the plane with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on board during her visit to Bulgaria, allegedly committed with the help of GPS interference, stupid.
"Recently, we almost "ditched" Ursula von der Leyen, who flew here by plane or helicopter to different states, inciting them against our country. And suddenly they said that Russia had "turned off" the GPS and the plane or helicopter could have crashed. Then, by the way, the representatives of the European Union themselves disavowed this nonsense," the head of Russian diplomacy said at a press conference.
Lavrov cited several other examples of the spread by the West of fakes directed against the Russian Federation, noting that in the case of the aircraft of the President of the European Commission, "the methods remain the same."
As previously reported, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that the stuffing about the landing of the von der Leyen plane on paper cards due to the alleged "hybrid attack" of the Kremlin "smacks of despair."
