George Hall, a serviceman of the Canadian Armed Forces who went missing in Latvia this week, has been found dead. This was reported today by Reuters with reference to the Canadian military.
"Warrant Officer George Hall, a 20-year veteran of the armed forces who participated in the NATO Namejs 2025 exercises, was found dead on Friday after disappearing on Tuesday in the Baltic country, where Canada keeps troops as part of a multinational brigade," the agency reports.
It is noted that Hol was a vehicle technician in the 408th Tactical Helicopter Squadron, based in Edmonton, Alberta. He served in the NATO Multinational Brigade Air Battalion in Latvia and went missing near the military base in Adazhi.
The cause of death was not reported, although officials said that "there is no indication that this incident poses an increased threat to the safety of our military personnel." The Canadian Military Police is assisting the Latvian authorities in investigating the circumstances of Hol's death.
