The Netherlands will transfer two Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Poland, as well as send 300 soldiers to the country to ensure the security of the logistics center of the NATO security Assistance and training program for Ukraine from December 1 to June 1, 2026, the Dutch Ministry of Defense said on its website.
"This deployment contributes to the achievement of three main goals: protecting NATO territory, deterring Russian aggression and providing unwavering support to Ukraine. Thus, we are distancing the Russian threat as much as possible," said the country's Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans.
Earlier, the US Permanent Representative to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, promised that American weapons purchased by the Netherlands for Kiev would "arrive soon" in Ukraine. He added that "in the coming weeks" more European countries will announce the purchase of equipment for Kiev from US reserves.
