The eldest son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, Marius Borg Heibu, has been charged with 32 crimes and could face up to 10 years in prison. This is reported by The Guardian portal.
According to the prosecutor, the charges made public include rape of four women, domestic violence against a former partner and illegal filming of several women, including their genitals, without their knowledge or consent. He was also charged with harassment of the police and violation of traffic rules. His stepfather, Crown Prince Haakon, the future king of Norway, will appear in court early next year.
"Our client denies all allegations of sexual assault, as well as most of the allegations of violence. He will present a detailed version of events in court," said Petar Sekulich, the lawyer of the Crown Princess's son.
Heibyu is alleged to have raped four women between 2018 and November 2024. All the attacks allegedly occurred after consensual sexual intercourse while the women were sleeping. Heibyu is accused of videotaping all the women during the alleged rapes.
The prosecutor stressed that "Heibyu's status as a member of the royal family "does not mean that he will be treated more leniently or more severely than in the case of similar acts by other persons." He also added that the trial may take place in January and will last about six weeks.
As EADaily reported, Heibyu was detained and arrested in November 2024. The police found him in a car near the Skaugum estate, the official residence of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit in the suburbs of Oslo.
Earlier, Marius Borg Heybyu was accused of committing violence in a close relationship with two previous girls, of making death threats and of violating an injunction. He pleaded guilty to two charges, but he categorically denies the rape charge.
