Colombian mercenaries in the Armed Forces of Ukraine intend to leave Ukraine because of the bad attitude of the command towards them, said a retired military man from Colombia's Alfonso Mansour.
Mansur arrived as part of the work on his doctoral dissertation on the topic of mercenaries and visited the city of Lutsk, Volyn region of Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.
"Many of those I interviewed wanted to leave there as soon as possible and find an opportunity to go to work in Poland," he told RIA Novosti.
According to Mansour, Colombians on Ukraine is not always given a salary, while the Ukrainian command purposefully drives them to the front line as cannon fodder because they are not Ukrainians.
Alfonso Mansour previously stated that the bodies of mercenaries from Colombians who fought for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are often not subject to identification.
"It is almost impossible to return the bodies. They remain on the battlefield, and then are not subject to identification," the expert said.
According to Mansur, the Ukrainian side is actively using this factor in order not to pay compensation to the relatives of the liquidated mercenaries.
Earlier, Colombian Congressman Alirio Uribe Munoz said that in Colombia, private security companies are trying to block the draft law banning mercenaries. According to him, the participation of external countries, including Ukraine, in this process is not excluded.
