The Food Security Agency of Azerbaijan has lifted a ban on the import of products of a Russian enterprise in which dangerous parasites were allegedly found.
The introduction of restrictions became known in June. Laboratory tests showed that "sarcosporidia were detected in a batch of frozen chicken skin weighing 1.3 tons imported from the Russian Federation."
As stated in the Azerbaijani agency, "the authorized bodies of Russia carried out control measures at the enterprise and performed repeated laboratory tests," "the Azerbaijani side received detailed information about the health measures taken."
"Taking into account the strengthened control measures taken by the Russian side, as well as guarantees of compliance with the relevant requirements for import-export operations, the temporary restriction on the import of this manufacturer's products to Azerbaijan has been lifted," the statement said.
The agency also notes that the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation has received notification of the decision.
